History of Etsako Progressive Union England and Wales.
This Club was founded in November 2001 at the residence of Chief Joseph Friday Akiotu. The aims and objectives of the Union are to promote the rich culture and tradition of our people especially for those of us in Diaspora. We also aim to support our people in times of need by alleviating poverty.
The Motto of the Union is “ALLOAYE”. This is so because the union is aligned to developmental ideas that will propagate and enhance the advancement of our people in this ever challenging period.
Etsako Progressive Union is a recognised charity organisation in the UK. We are registered with the Charity Commission and have all the rights to operate as such. Since our existence, we have embarked on numerous projects and provided assistance to our friends and family.
We donated medical equipment to be precise Blood Glucose Monitoring Machines to various Maternity Homes and Health Centres in Etsako in 2009. The Union looked beyond Etsako and its environs and contributed financially to HAITI earthquake appeal funds.
We donated some computers to some schools in Etsako to assist students in computer technological know how in their various studies. Beneficiaries of these initiatives are College of Agriculture Agenebode, Anegbette Secondary School and Ayogwiri Secondary School respectively.
The Club also assisted by donating palliatives to various communities in Etsako to Cushing the effect of the Covid – 19 pandemic.
In addition to the above, the club has embarked in the provision of welfare support to members in the UK and have ensured that members and their families benefit from the aims and objectives of the union.
